The tax relief announced by the prime minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in September 2025 are reflected as of now in salaries paid out today to nearly 1 million wage earners in the private sector, National Economy & Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis said on Friday in a social media post.
"Families with several children will pay no tax. Young people below 25 years of age will pay no tax. A person with many children who gets paid 1,800 euros a month will see a 300-euro increase in his bank account as of today," said Pierrakakis in a video he posted that included excerpts from his interview to Skai TV on Friday.
The minister acknolwedged that this was not 'a magical solution to all problems,' but "whether a state, whether a family, whether the budget of a company, we all know we have restrictions. Can you do the best possible thing? Do you know what you are doing? That is what we will be judged on."
