An elderly driver lost control of his car on a commercial street in the coastal town of Nafpaktos, crossing into oncoming traffic before mounting the pavement and striking six parked motorcycles, outdoor café tables and chairs, and two other vehicles.
One person sustained minor injuries.
Moments before the car reached the busiest section of the street, a woman spotted it coming and pulled her child away from a parked vehicle, avoiding what could have been a far more serious outcome.
Video footage from the scene showed extensive damage along the street.
Nafpaktos is a coastal town on the northern shore of the Gulf of Corinth in south-central Greece. The cause of the driver losing control was not immediately established.
