A flight from Manchester to Heraklion descended into chaos over the weekend when a heavily intoxicated tourist began harassing passengers, leading to her arrest upon landing, authorities said.

According to local media reports, a 40-year-old woman onboard the flight consumed a significant amount of alcohol during the journey and began causing disturbances, verbally confronting fellow travelers and ignoring repeated instructions from cabin crew to calm down.

Despite efforts by flight attendants to de-escalate the situation, the woman remained disruptive, prompting the pilot to alert Greek authorities before landing. Police met the aircraft on the runway at Heraklion International Airport and took the woman into custody immediately after it touched down.
She is expected to appear before the Heraklion prosecutor in the coming days.

The passenger’s identity and nationality have not been made public.
The incident is the latest in a series of alcohol-related disturbances on European flights, with aviation authorities expressing growing concern over unruly behavior in the skies, particularly during the busy summer travel season.
