Authorities are using drones, thermal imaging cameras, and traps to locate and capture a wolf that attacked and injured a 5-year-old Serbian child in the Sithonia area of Halkidiki.
The child, who was on vacation, was taken to a local hospital with scratches and bite wounds but has since returned home.
Officials are working with the environmental organization Callisto to track the animal.
"Drones fly at night to track the wolf's movements. Traps will be placed this week to capture the animal,” said Athanasios Mallinis, the Deputy Mayor of Sithonia.
Mr. Mallinis reassured the public that there was no need for panic but advised dog owners to keep their pets on a leash, as the same wolf is suspected in recent attacks on dogs.
Iason Bantios, a spokesperson for Callisto, described the wolf as a "problematic, habituated young animal that must be removed."
