A 43-year-old Greek man and 38-year-old German woman are due before an Athens investigating magistrate Friday morning on charges related to the death of an infant, alongside a 26-year-old Afghan man facing separate charges of sexual acts with a minor, prosecutors said.

Arrest warrants issued this week will be executed at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Evelpidon courts complex, after which all three are expected to be granted time to prepare formal statements.

All three remain in pretrial detention on unrelated drug trafficking charges.

DNA testing has confirmed that the man and woman are the biological parents of the deceased infant, as well as of two other children in the household: a 15-year-old girl, who is pregnant, and a 12-year-old boy.

A fourth child, a 9-year-old boy, was found to be the woman's biological son but not the man's.

The Greek suspect was earlier reported to have attacked police officers and attempted to flee during a prior transfer between facilities.

Authorities have not disclosed further details on the circumstances of the infant's death, which remains under investigation.

The case has drawn significant media attention in Greece, with hearings continuing as prosecutors build separate case files against each suspect based on their alleged roles.
