National Defense Minister Nikos Dendias met on Thursday with the directors of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) at the Armed Forces Officers' Club (LAED).
According to an announcement, Dendias briefed the SEV leaders on the changes in national defense under the reform "Agenda 2030", which will clearly impact national economy through the development of defense innovation and technology, a key aspect of the reform. This provides for a domestic added value of 25% on average in implementing the Long-Term Procurements Program.
In addition, SEV was briefed by the minister in the presence of the chiefs of staff of the new institution of active reserves. These will be on a voluneteer basis after a conscripted soldier completes their term, and the reserve members will be trained for readiness to support the Armed Forces and meet operational needs. The aim is that citizen-reserves will be able to respond to their obligations without losing or jeopardizing their work and insurance rights, as well as their professional prospects.
Dendias expressed the hope the industrialists would support this national effort and that productivity forces in Greece would contribute to the success of the active reserves system.
Representing SEV were Chairman of the Board Spyros Theodoropoulos, and President of the Executive Committee & Vice-President of the Board Rania Ekaterinari.
Dendias will also meet with other productivity and employee agencies, the announcement said.
