Legendary hard-rock band Deep Purple will return to Athens on October 13, 2026, as part of their newly announced European tour, organizers confirmed Monday.
The concert will take place at the Telekom Center Athens, the indoor arena at OAKA.
The group, widely regarded as one of the most influential bands in rock history, continues to draw global audiences more than five decades after defining the sound of hard rock in the late 1960s.
Despite lineup changes over the years, Deep Purple remain active, releasing new music as recently as 2024 and maintaining a strong international following.
The band’s Athens performance marks a homecoming of sorts: Deep Purple last played the OAKA indoor arena in 2000 in what is still remembered by fans as one of their most iconic shows in Greece.
Hits such as Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Burn and Hush, along with landmark ballads like Soldier of Fortune and epics including Child in Time, have cemented their reputation across generations.
Their recent resurgence in pop culture — including the use of Child in Time in the trailer for the upcoming season of Stranger Things — has introduced the band to younger audiences who may not have encountered their music before.
Tickets and additional tour details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks as Athens prepares to host one of rock’s most enduring names.
