A major digital shift is transforming how Greek businesses conduct wholesale transactions, with companies moving beyond simple online order forms to sophisticated, custom-built e-commerce platforms that automate complex commercial relationships.
This evolution in Business-to-Business (B2B) commerce is often misunderstood, according to Evi Boukorou Georgouda, CEO of the digital transformation agency Generation Y.
She said true B2B platforms are not just for placing orders.
“Each customer accesses a personalized environment showing only their agreed pricing, credit limits, order restrictions due to outstanding debts, inventory by location, and hierarchical approval workflows,” Ms. Georgouda said.
She cited a veterinary pharmaceutical company that recently replaced phone calls and faxes with a custom B2B platform, allowing clinics and pet shops to see their negotiated prices and real-time stock updates.
This digitization is no longer a luxury but a prerequisite for growth, improving speed, accuracy, and transparency in sales.
