An 11-year-old boy has been transferred to the University Hospital of Heraklion after falling roughly three metres from a cliff near Agios Nikolaos in Crete, reportedly after losing his balance while chasing a small bird behind a local café.
Doctors said his condition was not serious and his life was not in danger.
The boy was initially taken to Agios Nikolaos Hospital for imaging and clinical assessment before physicians decided to move him to Heraklion for monitoring by a specialist pediatric surgical team — a precautionary step rather than an indication of deterioration.
The transfer was described by medical staff as aimed at ensuring enhanced supervision over the following hours.
