PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Nikos Androulakis met in his office in Parliament on Friday with Gharib Hasso, co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) of Syria, a left-wing Kurdish party.
As Androulakis noted in social media, they discussed extensively the issues Syria and the Middle East face, especially following the toppling of the Assad regime and the recent developments in Damascus.
The PASOK-KINAL leader also noted that during the meeting the two party leaders confirmed the strong ties of friendship of the two peoples and Greece's key role as a beacon of peace and security in the East Mediterranean.
"We committed to promoting the just demands of the Kurds of Syria at the European Parliament, aiming at a democratic and inclusive system of rule in the country," Androulakis said.
