Continuing his visit to the region of Evros on Friday, PASOK–Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis visited Soufli. In statements prompted by the closure of the local Hellenic Post (ELTA) branch, he expressed his sadness, saying he saw "permanent residents experiencing the abandonment of the state — an abandonment that is escalating."

"ELTA branches were points of reference in many parts of the region, and residents now see them closing down," Androulakis said, sharply criticising the government. He argued that "instead of supporting them, New Democracy has devalued them and used them as a clientelist mechanism for direct contracts with cronies and friends."

"I want to tell the residents of Soufli — and citizens all across Greece — that the country needs political change. In the upcoming national elections, we must disrupt the impunity, incompetence, and corruption of New Democracy. Don’t expect anything from Mr. Mitsotakis. He has nothing to give — only to take. Therefore: political change and PASOK," Nikos Androulakis emphasised.
