The new U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, has kicked off her high-profile diplomatic posting joined by 19-year-old son, Ronan.
Ms. Guilfoyle’s son has reportedly moved to Athens where he will continue his university studies online.
The ambassador's first weekend blended official duties with introductions to Athens' political and social circles.
On Saturday evening, just hours after landing, Ms. Guilfoyle hosted a formal reception at the Grand Hyatt Hotel for the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps, attended by prominent Greek business and political leaders.
On Sunday, Ms. Guilfoyle and her son were seen attending a performance by popular Greek singer Konstantinos Argyros at a well-known nightclub.
Ronan, an active athlete, is Ms. Guilfoyle's son from her second marriage to businessman Eric Villency, which ended in 2009. Ms. Guilfoyle was previously married to California Gov. Gavin Newsom and was later engaged to Donald Trump Jr.
Ms. Guilfoyle, who often shares her close bond with her son on social media, begins her tenure as a prominent figure in both politics and media.
She is expected to formally present her credentials to the Greek President this week.
