Passenger traffic rose in the first half of 2025 at Athens International Airport, which recorded an increase in revenue. However, net profits are down due to increased financial expenses.
According to a relevant announcement by AIA, in the H1 of 2025, passenger traffic at the airport reached 15.1 million passengers, an increase of 7.6% compared to the first half of 2024. Domestic and international passengers increasing by 2.2% and 9.8% respectively.
Despite geopolitical developments, in June, the overall trends remain strong and, according to the same announcement, reflect the attractiveness and resilience of Athens as a destination, as well as the effectiveness of AIA's route and passenger traffic development strategy.Total revenue and other income increased by 5.0% to 308.2 million euros in the H1 of 2025.Adjusted EBITDA stood at 182.3 million euros, while the adjusted EBITDA margin reached 59.2%, in line with AIA's short-term target.Earnings after taxes amounted to 92.2 million euros, down 5.1%.
