A 41-year-old Albanian national who sustained a gunshot wound to the cheek was found dead at noon on Thursday in a vineyard in Rafina, Attica.
The victim called his wife on Wednesday and told her he had been shot and managed to name the perpetrator of the attack and the place where it took place. His wife informed the police. Initially, police found only the victim's cell phone, which had blood stains on it, and a few hours later they found the 41-year-old's body in a ditch. According to police, the 41-year-old had reportedly been employed in the past for narcotics cases.
A police investigation is underway to identify the alleged perpetrator, who is also reportedly known to authorities for drug-related activity.
