A 39-year-old man from Albania was arrested on Thursday night as he confessed to killing his wife in their apartment in Ambelokipi, Athens.
The suspect called police in the afternoon and said that on November 28 he killed his wife by hitting her in the head with a hammer. Police officers immediately rushed to the apartment and found the woman's body in the attic, as the 39-year-old man had indicated. A coroner and a team from the Criminal Investigation Department are at the scene. The confessed perpetrator claimed to the police that he murdered her out of jealousy. The couple have two children, aged 12 and 9.
