Greece’s Ministry of Tourism announced it is adding new beneficiaries to the "Tourism for All 2025" program, redirecting unused funds to boost domestic, off-season travel.
The expansion covers the current low-season period, which runs until Dec. 31, 2025.
A ministerial amendment is redistributing €4.5 million in unused funds from digital holiday cards issued during the high-season, which ended Sept. 30.
The money will now be used to allow more residents to benefit from the subsidized holiday scheme.
The new group of participants will be selected from the existing list of non-drawn applicants from the March lottery.
Once finalized, the updated lists will be published on the ministry’s website.
Those selected will receive SMS and email notifications with instructions to activate their digital holiday card.
The card, which beneficiaries can activate through Alpha Bank or Eurobank, functions like a standard debit card. It can be used for accommodation payments nationwide without geographic restrictions.
The initiative aims to strengthen domestic tourism, support local providers, and extend Greece’s travel season, with a particular emphasis on mountain destinations and less-visited regions.
Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said the program plays a key role in expanding access to holidays year-round and supporting sustainable development.
"We remain committed to strengthening domestic tourism and giving even more citizens the opportunity to enjoy holidays throughout the year," Mrs. Kefalogianni said.
