Athens police were called to investigate the death of an individual whose body was found by two passers-by on Sunday at Hymmettus Mountain near the suburb of Glyfada.
Emergency services were called by a two members of the public to the scene in Hymmettus Mountain, to reports of an adult male.
Police attended and found the body of a 61-year-old man who was declared dead at the scene.
Police said it appears the man committed suicide as a weapon was found laying next to the body.
The man was facing serious financial problems and in 2008 has consumed an overdose of prescription drugs with suicidal intent. Back then the man was serving as head of the maintenance department and support of C4I communications system for Siemens Hellas.
