Screens across Athens subway stations are showing a government-backed short film in which Greece is demanding German reparations for World War II.
The 50-second film shows footage from the Nazi occupation (1941-1944) that has cost Greece hundreds of thousands deaths and hundreds of billion in damages and looting. The short film is shown in 35 subway stations of the Greek capital.
Five government departments, including the tourism ministry, gave the green light to the scheme, according to Der Spiegel.
A parliamentary question was presented to Ministers of State, Economy, Infrastructure, and Foreign Affairs by 5 Potami Mps. The deputies asked the ministers if the Prime Minister was aware of the action, whose idea was it, the thought behind the constant projection of the video during such a long period and demanded the submission of documents certifying the government's right to use the screens in subway stations to propagate its policies.
